So you’re losing water in your pond and don’t know where the water is going to. Here are a few things you can do to find out where the water is going.


1. Make sure there are no leaks in your plumbing outside your pond. You can do this by feeling around the soil where your plumbing is at when your water pump is still turned out. Check for wet or damp soil. If you find any wet or damp soil, carefully dig deeper and wider to see if the source of the water is from there or from uphill. A key note: water flows along with gravity, so if you find an area where there’s wet soil, the water may be coming from there or from a place uphill. You’ll have to trace the water to it’s source.
