(Sports Network) - After splitting the first two contests of a three-game set, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles will battle it out on Sunday afternoon in a rubber match at Camden Yards. Down 3-2 in the sixth inning on Saturday, Toronto took the lead on a two-out, two-run single by J.P. Arencibia, and after adding three more insurance runs in the seventh went on to win, 7-3. All but one of the Blue Jays starting nine recorded a hit on the afternoon. Edwin Encarnacion belted his 25th homer in the first inning, while Adam Lind, Colby Rasmus ad Maicer Izturis all enjoyed multi-hit games. Rookie starter Terry Redmond lasted just four innings, allowing three runs while striking out six, but five Toronto relievers completed the rest of the game without surrendering another run. Aaron Loup (3-3) earned the win, and Casey Janssen recorded his 18th save. "The bullpen came in and theres not much to say other than theyve really been lights out the whole year and continue to pitch that way," Arencibia said. Jason Hammel (7-6) was roughed up over six innings, yielding 10 hits, two walks and six earned runs in the loss. Chris Davis continued his torrid first half despite the loss by crushing his Major League-leading 36th home run of the season, his third straight game with a longball. The only player in American League history with more homers before the All-Star break is Reggie Jackson, who hit 37 in 1969. Adam Jones also left the yard for the Orioles, his 18th of the season. Josh Johnson will take the hill for the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon. The 29- year-old right-hander has had a disappointing first season with his new club, as he sits with a 1-4 record and a 4.62 ERA. The good news for Johnson is that hes pitched much better since his return from the disabled list in early June, boasting a 3.54 ERA over the last 40 2/3 innings, although his improvement has not been reflected in his win total. Johnson was the hard-luck loser his last time out, allowing just three hits and two earned runs over seven innings of work on July 9 versus the Indians. For the Orioles, Scott Feldman will make his third start since being traded from the Cubs earlier this month. Hes 7-7 with a 3.87 ERA overall this season, but his first 11 1/3 innings with Baltimore has not gone smoothly (0-1, 7.15 ERA). Feldman was touched up for his worst start of the season on July 8, allowing nine hits and seven earned runs in 5 1/3 innings of work in a loss to the Rangers. "The sixth inning was a rough one," said Feldman, who gave up just two runs in the first five innings of his last start before failing to make it out of the sixth. "Got to go back and look at the tape and see what kind of adjustments I need to make for next time." Feldman has struggled against the Blue Jays in his career, going 0-4 in 12 appearances with a 6.11 ERA. Toronto has won five of its past six versus Baltimore. The mental scars have finally healed for North Queensland. But Cowboys playmaker Johnathan Thurston reckons they will be as raw as ever for Cronulla in Friday nights NRL preliminary final at Allianz Stadium. And hes not even talking about the Sharks 49-year premiership drought.Thurston believed Cronulla were yet to exorcise their demons from the 39-0 thumping they received from the Cowboys in last years semi-final in Townsville.I think that will be driving them, Thurston said. They didnt play too well up here.We were pretty clinical that night. No doubt that will be motivating them.Thurston even hoped Sharks playmaker Chad Townsend may be carrying a bit of extra baggage. The Cronulla half was surprisingly benched late in their last clash, a qualifying win over Canberra.Obviously there is a bit of mental scarring when you get hooked with 20 to go, Thurston said of Townsend.I am sure he is level headed enough to make sure it doesnt happen. It may work in his favour, he might blitz it now.Thurston confirmed North Queensland had no such mental demons since ttheir historic premiership triumph last year.ddddddddddddntil then, the Cowboys had earned a reputation for being on the wrong end of crunch finals calls. There was the hand of Foran against Manly in 2012, Cronullas seventh tackle try in 2013 and a controversial disallowed four-pointer against Sydney Roosters in 2014.We are a totally different club and team to back then, Thurston said. What works for us is taking those decisions out of the officials hands. Now if we play well and get beaten we can cop it on the chin.Even Friday nights venue does not conjure up any dark memories for Thurston.North Queensland won their first final at Allianz Stadium in 2005 but have lost the past five at the venue - including those three controversial playoff matches that once haunted the club. Its just another field. I love playing there actually, Thurston said.Hopefully people come out of The Shire into the city - it should be a good night. ' ' '
