WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Three days after signing Martin Truex Jr. to a contract extension, Furniture Row Racing announced Sunday that it was adding a second car to its NASCAR Cup lineup to be driven next season by Xfinity rookie Erik Jones. Were excited to have all the components of a second race team, team owner Barney Visser said. Today has been a long time coming.Visser said the contract with the 20-year-old Jones is for one year, with the hope of extending it. 5-hour Energy will be the primary sponsor for Furniture Rows No. 77 Toyota for 22 races. Visser said the team would secure a charter for next years Cup season.Im excited, but anxious at the same time, said Jones, who had three Cup starts last year for Joe Gibbs Racing. Its a big learning curve, its a big jump. Youre going from a field where 10 or 12 cars can win to a field where 20 cars can.Its definitely going to be tough, but I think Im in the best situation to succeed, Jones said. Im as ready as I can be. At some point, youve got to make that jump. Youve got to sink or swim.Furniture Row president Joe Garone said the team had not yet signed a crew chief for the second Toyota.Jones, a native of Byron, Michigan, won the Truck Series title last year and has three Xfinity wins this year for Joe Gibbs Racing. His move to the Cup series will mark the first time a Toyota development driver has gone from local racing up through the NASCAR national ranks. To find a driver like Erik and a sponsor like 5-hour Energy along with our technical agreement with Gibbs, we think were going to be able to run right up where we need to run, Visser said.Denver-based Furniture Row Racing has emerged as a contender for the Cup title with Truex. He finished fourth last year after making it to the final round of the Chase. This season he has one victory, leads the series in laps led by a wide margin and has clinched another berth in NASCARs playoffs.Im really excited. I know a lot of things had to come together, said 36-year-old Truex, who will have 5-hour Energy on his car for two races in 2017. Allowing us to do a second car kind of helps keep those (sponsor) relationships strong, helps us build for the future. I think it bodes well for the future of Furniture Row Racing. Im excited to work with Erik.Truexs No. 78 also has received a boost in sponsorship. Bass Pro Shops and Tracker Boats will increase its primary sponsorship from 12 to 16 races in 2017.Cheap Air Jordan Free Shipping .Y. -- Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo had little trouble picking up his first shutout of the season against a Buffalo Sabres team thats having trouble scoring goals. "I know I did nothing wrong. Im sure thisll be resolved fairly," Miller tweeted, acknowledging he had seen the reports and adding he was disappointed the Broncos have to open training camp with this news hanging over them. ESPN first reported the pending discipline for Miller. A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the possible penalty to The Associated Press. The person did not want to be named because the league hasnt announced any punishment. Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth said the team would not comment on the penalty, which could be overturned by an appeal. Miller and his agent didnt return messages left by AP. The Broncos report to training camp Wednesday with big expectations but a growing number of off-the-field distractions, as well. Shortly after last seasons 13-3 campaign ended with a loss to Baltimore in the divisional playoffs, none other than Miller guaranteed a Super Bowl title for Denver for the 2013 season. "I wasnt being arrogant or cocky when I made the guarantee. It was something bigger than myself," Miller said in May in explaining the comment. He said he dedicated the upcoming season to his 6-year-old cousin who was injured in an auto accident last winter. Then, just last week, left tackle Ryan Clady signed a new contract and, during interviews to discuss the deal, said it was, "Super Bowl or bust, for the most part" for Denver. Its the kkind of talk, at least in public, that Peyton Manning and coach John Fox disdain.dddddddddddd It is, however, in line with what Las Vegas says (At odds ranging between 9-2 and 6-1, the Broncos are widely listed as the favourites to win the Super Bowl) as well as the roster Executive Vice-President John Elway has assembled. He added Wes Welker to Mannings receiving corps, shored up the line with free agent guard Louis Vasquez and used a second-round draft pick to add Wisconsin running back Montee Ball to the mix, as well. But not all the off-season news has been positive for the Broncos. Elways top two assistants, Matt Russell and Tom Heckert, are each serving suspensions after arrests on drunken driving charges -- an embarrassing run of news that deprives the Broncos of their top personnel men at a time when personnel decisions are paramount. The other bit of bad news for Denver this off-season was its inability to keep pass-rushing defensive lineman Elvis Dumervil because of a mix-up with a fax machine that kept the team from receiving his signed contract in time. The Broncos felt good about replacing Dumervil and his 11 sacks last season, but in large part, the comfort came because they had Miller, who has 30 sacks over his first two NFL seasons, lining up on the other side. Without Miller, the Broncos defence would be missing its best pass rusher for its first four games -- against Baltimore, the New York Giants, Oakland and Philadelphia. If suspended, Miller would be able to participate in all of the workouts at training camp but would have to leave the team after its final preseason game on Aug. 29. ' ' '
