HAMILTON, Ont. -- Aggressive penalty killing paid big dividends for the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Bulldogs scored two short-handed goals, including Patrick Hollands third period winner, to defeat the St. Johns IceCaps 3-2 Friday in their American Hockey League opener. Hamilton scored its second short-handed goal of the game to retake the lead for good at 5:15 of the third period. Holland was sprung on a lone break through the middle, and successfully eluded the only defender in front of him before slipping a weak shot through the legs of Pasquale. "When youre one-on-one and short-handed, you really have nothing to lose," Holland said. "You just have to try to make a play and get a good shot on net. The IceCaps had a golden opportunity to level the game with eight minutes to play in the third when Josh Lunden found himself alone in the low slot with only Tokarski to beat.
